Kirby was a favorite player of mine back when I was growing up. Actually, he 
was probably a favorite of ANY little boy growing up around that time who 
loved baseball. Watching this chubby little guy with a constant smile on his 
face playing the game so enthusiastically (and so brilliantly).....you had 
no choice but to root for him.

So sad that his story had to end this way.
