Like I said, Real is very expensive, But you can do live video very easily.

I have used Windows Media before and it is pretty simple. No additional 
costs, but you do have to be using Windows 2000 Server to get the best results.

Quicktime, I have never used quicktime.

I have found it best to use Both Real Player and Windows Media Player, You 
can get a free 10-20 streams with Real server. That way, you use Windows 
Media Player for most people, and those who don't have it can use Real Player.

You should be able to get buy pretty cheap as long as you have a spare 
Win2k server. Bandwidth becomes the next problem. If it is a 200k stream, 
that can eat a T1 pretty quickly. If you start to max out your bandwidth 
then everybody watching will get lag. Not good.
