Heh. We have a moderately active ROTC on the campus here. I often see
a person in uniform walking down the sidewalk or a group of them
jogging. And this is a pretty liberal campus.

The other day in the student union there were two booths. One was
students upset about the turture and treatment by the military at
places like abu graib and gitmo and handing out information to the
occasional student who stopped by. The other booth right next to it
was a recruitment station with a couple guys in fatigues standing
there ramrod straight looking, no offense, like tools. I think people
felt a little sorry for them. Nobody was protesting, but nobody was
talking to them either.
