::sigh:: Your reply is exactly beside the point as I am not questioning whether 
the Taliban were bad people (see rawa.org if anyone has any doubt) only whether 
this really is why we are there and whether we really have improved things. By 
the way, since when do we invade countries over the abuse of women? And why 
then are we not in Darfur?

But anyway. Let me restate my point. We get so few news stories from 
Afghanistan that it is hard to know what is going on there.
