I don't have a dog in this fight, but...

Larry, reading back through this thread, it looks like Wayne said he
"grew out" of "playing with guns".
Kevin then pointed out that if all of Brits (Wayne is a Brit, I think,
and therefore his countrymen would have been Brits) had felt this way
during the war, England would now be speaking German.

I think Kevin is right on this one. If there was no one in England
contesting the Germans, the Germans could easily have rolled up
England, and without the Brits fighting in France and elsewhere, would
have been able to quickly curbed the internal resistance.

And without England in the fight, Canada would not have been there.
Australia would not have been there. And had England not held on
tooth-and-nail as long as they did, America would have never gotted
off the pot and into the war.

But without America in the war, I don't think Europe would exist. We
might still have England, but the EU would just be called Germany.
