The military leadership was lacking, as was their tactics and their technology. The bravery of the soldiers was not. Read up about the evacuation of Dunkirk and how the French army in that part of France sacrificed itself to give the British time to complete the evacuation. If it was not for those troops Dunkirk would have become a slaughterhouse.
Also perhaps you're not familiar with what the Free French Army did in Africa and the middle east during the Second World War. Or the horrific last stand of the french army in Vietnam against the Japanese. Plainly you have no clue about the critical role they played in the invasion of Italy, or in Operation Dragon - the invasion of southern France. More recently look at the involvement of the French in Afghanistan. Remember Afghanistan? You do not know what you are talking about when you belittle the French people. As I said I am disgusted by this arrogance. You've made it very plain you have little or no knowledge of the military, in terms of history, strategy or tactics.
