Dude. I AM jealous. I wish I had my DVR back in the wild, wacky times
of October 2004. I'd just put 'em on while cleaning the house and
coding my side-projects on the weekend. That would be pretty sweet.
Because even if I never see another BoSox World Championship in my
lifetime, I'll always have that series to look back and smile about.
It's really hard to explain to someone who isn't a Sox fan how great
that Series felt. It was weird, once they beat the Yankees, the World
Series almost seemed like the NFL Pro-Bowl after watching the SuperBowl.
Cool to watch, but you knew the real magic was behind you. I dunno, I
still smile and get all goosebumpy when they play the clips of Joe and
Jerry (the radio guys, 'cause radio guys still do the best commentary,
IMO) saying "Can you believe it?!" at the end of the series. Heh, I
just got all goosebumpy again writing it. Amazing.

And for Adam V., man, I don't know what the Pats are thinking. Like
Jerry Johnson wrote yesterday, I still have to believe in Bill Belichick
and Bob Kraft, that they know what they're doing. It's hard to do,
though, because the rumors are that it was a money issue that stemmed
back from the 'ole 2001 days when the team was strapped for cash, and
they promised that they'd never put themselves in that position again.
BUT - they are $19 million under the cap right now, and after three
rings, Bob Kraft is bringing in an estimated $250 million per year in
revenue. Add in the fact that the final deal from the Colts amounted to
about $1 million per year better than the Pats offer, and it just seems
crazy. /I'd/ pay the $1 million if I had it, just to keep Automatic
Adam around here.

Unlike the Johnny Damon deal, though, I don't blame Vinatieri for his
decision. He can really extend his career by playing predominantly
indoors, and hey, a man has the right to make all the money he can.
Just as long as you're not a money-grubbing, rock-star wannabe (I'm
looking at YOU, Johnny. I hope you crash that fucking Ferrari into your
trophy wife and all your money vaporizes before your eyes. Yea, I just
said that. Fucker. :) ). Anyways, I think the dome-playing might have
been a big factor in his decision. That, and he has a better chance of
one more ring with the Colts, with or without E.J.. I'm just
speculating, of course. I'm good at that. :)

Dude, get a picture with Big Papi and post it on HoF when you go down
there. That would be sweet, and I've heard that the players are very
approachable when in Spring Training. I really gotta make a trip down
there some year and just catch a game or 7. Hell, I almost went down to
Fenway to see off the equipment trucks this year. That has become quite
the tradition around here. Talk about crazed fans. I love it.

I am not even going to comment on the Arroyo deal. I think he got
shafted by Theo and management. Takes a home-town discount, then get
traded the next year. That's something I would have expected from the
Duquette days, not from Theo. And it's not like they got anything
spectacular for him. Wily Mo's a good player, but you just can't have
too much pitching come mid-August, mid-Sept. Arroyo could do anything,
start, pen, even close if he had to. We'll see I guess. Oops, I said I
wasn't going to comment, but I did anyways. Now I'm all fired up.
Thanks. :)

Have fun, man.
