The writing on this show just seems to be getting better and better. Something happened in this weeks show. Alan, out of normal character, meets a challenge with force and crass violence.
I turn to my wife and announce how disappointed I am. "That wasn't clever at all! Alan wouldn't do that!" The show continues. At the end Alan and Denny meet on the balcony to discuss their days (this is the way the show nearly always ends). Alan tells Denny "I solved a problem today with violence". Denny replies "What wrong with that?" Alan responds "It wasn't clever. I normally don't act like that." Just brilliant writing. Just to pull a quality bait and switch like that. Just brilliant.
