It's no different than me saying I don't like the word "sneakers" to describe shoes (it's true I don't, I never have) and so therefore the word "sneaker" is "trashy" and people should stop using it and use something else. You can't even use it when you're quoting someone or when you're writing a script for a character who would say it. It's offensive! Just stop! Stop!! For that matter, lobby the FCC to make it illegal! No more sneakers! When we're done scrubbing the US, we'll invade the rest of the world and we'll enforce our new FCC regulation to prohibit the use of the word "sneakers" in French and Italian and German speaking programs also!
