There was a kid in my dorm at college who's father was a State
Trooper. He paid for college by stealing computers from schools and
churches, and his father and other cops would fence them (with full
knowledge).

We didn't turn him in because it was understood that his father would
kill anyone who blabbed, and that no one would believe us over the
decorated cops anyway.
