see, I almost didn't post the story because I knew someone would say that.
Actually, as further details comes to light, it seems that the Mexicans charged him with an immigration offense -- probably going more than 10 km from the border without a visa -- in order to expedite. They do have other warrants on the guy but the are giving priority to the murder of a police officer up here. Extradition could have been a lengthy process. Unfortunately going this route does involve a bond as it's something they normally charge drunken Amercans with. And you're all in favor of complying with the law, right, Robert? And keeping Americans out of Mexican jails? Actually it seems that the breakdown in communications happened somewhere at the federal level, whether Mexican or American is unclear, since the original plan was that he was to be brought to the bridge and the deputies waited there for several hours before heading into Juarez to investigate. >call it what it is - Mexican Payola > >On 4/5/06, Dana Tierney <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:203151 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
