We just migrated to CFMX 6.1. It's a government client with a big investment in CF and we're a Macromedia partner, so I can say with confidence that BD won't fly.

The indexing engine does not have any document limit that I know of. Seems like a potentially big jump, but if your code ports ok, it could be the cheapest solution available.
