Both are reasonable assumptions! But like i've said in the past, i'm not 
sure "liberal" vs. "conservative" has much to do with economics 
anymore.....it's more defined by social issues.

So....the republican congress is "conservative" only as it pertains to 
social issues....

Not necessarily...i'm still convinced we are getting a democratic president 
in a few years.

Compromise can be great, but it can also stale mate. Ideally you have 
disparate parties that agree, more so than compromise.
