I can't get to the drive. The machine never boots. I did suggest trying a 
different drive but he does not have one readily available. Notice though, that 
the second octet ends in 6 not 32. 

The owner also has several animated movies (his work) on the drive that he 
would like to salvage if possible. At the moment, my advice is to count the 
wires in his ribbon cable, whether it was working at one point or not. This 
does not however feel like the correct answer.
