I test drove a bunch of them and settled on the Voyager 510:

It works well in my car which is not a beater, but it does have an
exhaust that's loud enough to trigger the volume control on the radio.
 Even so, I can still hear fine but I always have the windows up -
haven't tried with them down.

I looked at ones 4X more expensive and just didn't see a difference
that justified the price change.  What you may want to look for is one
with the highest volume rating as that's your constraint.  Most of
them have noise cancelling, and some have great noise cancelling, but
you need volume so I'd look for that.
