so its the BETA thing all over again... man.. sometimes technology is so crappy... i the consumer will consume it non the less....
Well.. sorta. But not because of ICT - that's common to both formats. Also remember that both formats are still the same physical format (a 5 inch optical disc). This means that we should see (and hopefully shortly) multi-format players that do Blu-Ray, DVD HD, DVD, CD and all the mini-variations of those. So there is _some_ light at the end of the tunnel. It _might_ end up that both formats survive but the user is, for most part, unaware of them. It'll (hopefully) be more like the burnable DVD format wars - early adopters got screwed but prices came down so much later that it didn't matter. You can get a dual-layer DVD+-R/RW burner for less than $50 now. Here's hoping. ;^) Jim Davis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:206510 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
