I saw Colin Powell once, and I agree, he's a great speaker. So was
Admiral Stockdale (saw him on a double-bill with McCain - speaking
about POWs, that was moving!)

Jello Biafra was very interesting (saw him in 1988), my introduction
to spoken-word art.
Saw Henry Rollins speak at the beginning of his spoken word career.
Anton Levay (Church of Satan) was one of the most soft-spoken and
kindly people I've ever heard refute an argument. It was fun watching
him gently take apart a fire-and-brimstone preacher's arguments point
by point after he had just given a speech about freedom of religion
(the preacher's main point was that Levay had "no right" to speak
about religion, since he didn't believe in God... which Levay
does...).
