Another aspect of the really effed up liquor laws in Washington state is that with the state controlling the liquor stores, they use the volume pricing _they_ get to keep prices lower on things like wine (Liquor sales aren't effected as you can _only_ get liquor in the WSLCB Stores).
My "house" wine distributor recently (about a year ago) started selling his wines through the State Liquor stores. I can get the wine there at 6.85 a bottle or I can go to the one other place that carries it in town (a local wine shop) and buy it for 10.99. Now, I know this hurts the wine shop owner a little, but dammit it works in my favor right now! at any rate the potential volume discount savings passed along through Costco is not enough for me to pay the 40 bucks for permission to shop there. Though i may have you pick something up for me, if you're going anyway... :-) -- will "If my life weren't funny, it would just be true; and that would just be unacceptable." - Carrie Fisher ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:206584 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
