I honestly don't think it would go over in the deep south, it's my own cynicism rearing it's ugly head. There's still folks down there that speak of "The War of Northern Aggression".
We still have a loooong way to go before an African American becomes president or VP. I think 2008 will shake down like this McCain either as an independent or GOP If McCain runs as an independent the GOP goes extreme right wing McCain as GOP wins, as and independent, he might but will probably hand the election to the dems.
