ah, but doesn't that make for an assumption of guilt on the part of the voter?

You're not allowed to vote unless you can _prove_ you paid your taxes?

Given the recent kerfuffles over being able to show ID as proof you
are who you say, doesn't this add yet another layer of obfuscation?

(and for the record, I _do_ think it a good idea to have to show some
sort of photo ID in order to vote, though a federal registration card
is to me out of the question. Drivers License or some such should be
enough, I think)
