Out of curiosity, is EquiFax offering that as a free service to
Veterans?

Subject: Veterans Identity Theft

This past weekend the there was a theft of identifying data on over 26
million veterans. The Department of Veterans Affairs recommends that
all veterans, even those that have not used the VA system, place a fraud
alert on their credit reports.

Equifax has set up a hotline to place this alert on all three national
reporting agencies for veterans at 1-877-576-5734. If you are a
veteran, please place a block on your reports. If you are not a
veteran, but know one; please pass this information to them.
