Yup, you're right.

One thing on this topic that shocks me though is how little people are
saving which puts them at risk for something like this.

For example, my wife and I don't have kids because we want to have a
nice size kitty should any type of thing like that happen.  Also we
want to be able to afford to have one of us be at home.  Well, there's
a down side to that: we're going to be old parents.  I'm going to be
those hey-why-did-you-bring-your-grandpa dads.

Nevertheless, it just seems like there are some many people that
choose to start a family before they have any savings.  Sure, some
kids are an oops, etc but there are MANY people that just go forward
with no savings.

I don't get it.  You're kinda asking for trouble there aren't you?
