See, that's why you can't have exceptions to privacy laws like this.

First kiddy porn, then terror, then pot heads, then what, opposition
political party members? Between this and the net neutrality stuff I have
been seeing I'm really worried about the direction this administration is
taking this nation. As citizens we really need to step up and fight this
shit. To paraphrase, all evil needs to succeed is for good men to do
nothing.

Thank god we have an election before too long. It's too bad that there
doesn't seem to be any organized resistance from the Democrats.

I've always thought that the political climate in the U.S. was kind of like
a pendulum when you look at it over the years; sways left and right. At
both ends there is abuse and violations of civil rights. However, I think
we spend most of our time some where in the middle. Hopefully we have gone
about as far to the right as we can for now.

This brings up another distinction in my own head. Is this really a "right
wing" administration? I don't think so. I mean a traditional conservative
will usually espouse the belief that government can and should legislate
morality, and god knows the Bush's love that shit. However, the
administration is also very much into big money social programs that would
traditionally belong more in the democrats corner.
