Thanks for the advice. I would really love too, but SCORE is US only, and since I am now located in Canada it is not available to me. I am looking for the Canadian equivalent which hopefully exists.

I did this in my old business 22 years ago, back when my family and I started an information processing company. The guy they paired me with was a charming retiree who made his fortune in the powdered hand soaps business. He didn't even type, much less know anything about technology, so at first I thought, How can this guy give me advice? But I soon realized that the real advice this guy could give me was how business itself really worked under the covers, how money really worked across the board (my business and everything it did, my bank and the lending decision process, my customers and their payment terms), how banks rated my business's health (and which set of financial ratios they used), and how to disregard unimportant things that I thought were important in favor of what really was important. The guy was happy to get out of the house a couple of days a week and get back to what he really loved, which was business. He made a small stipend from the SBA for his efforts in return, and he was jazzed about helping young entrepreneurs with what he had learned over the years. SCORE is a great program, and one of the few that spends tax dollars efficiently for a really good cause that strengthens the economy. IMHO, you should jump on it. They will pair you up with a retired (usually highly successful) business person who can help and guide you.
