Yer absolutely right, and that's why I asked it as a question, and not a
statement.

I think there is a difference though, and it has to do with likelihood and
extent. How reasonably likely is the event to occurr, and how catastrophic
would it be if it did?

When I looked at New Orleans, long before Katrina, I saw the disaster as not
only extremely likely, but almost inevitable. I see the same thing when I
look at parts of California. I also think the potential for destruction is
incredibly high in both cases. When you weigh in the likelihood and extent
of the destruction, I just wonder if you have to question your decision to
reside in that place.

I know that I reside in a place that is prone to tornados. But statistically
speaking, a tornado is highly UNLIKELY to hit my house. If it did, you know
what, i'd have to accept the fact that I risked this scenario, and lost.

I dunno, maybe there's nothing too all this, but I'm not sure.
