The link actually indicates that the number one threat to NYC is a
terrorist attack, not a hurricane.  Two being Hurricane in NO, and
three being "The Big One in SF.

However, I did mention the threat of a hurricane in NYC in another
message.  A hurricane is not New York's biggest threat, however, it's
still something to think about and if another CAT 3+ hit it, it will
do significant damage.  NYC isn't a soup-bowl like NO is, but it does
have other threats, including very tall buildings with tons of windows
which may or may not be ready for hurricane force winds.  Also, NYC
has alot of waterways all around it and the islands are relatively low
lying overall in case of a massive storm surge.
