That is because our system of federal government is a republic.
Clinton won the electoral college two times in a row. He didn't win the popular vote either time. I think that if we had a true popular vote, Clinton and Bush Sr. would have gone to a runoff, and Bush would have won. Which is what I would have agreed with. But I still support the Electoral College. Even though in the past it has caused my guy to loose. _____ From: Maureen [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, June 12, 2006 4:23 PM To: CF-Community Subject: Re: So, does anyone still trust these guys? It is on every level except for the Presidential election. However, what I was responding to was the original comment that the people elected Bush. They did not. Either time. And I seriously doubt you would be such a fan of the Electoral College if your guy had lost. Spin it all you want. Throw in a few more red herrings. If you are stating, in any way, that George Bush won an election by legal and ethical means, you are wrong. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:209030 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
