Interesting story. So is this good news for the left or bad?

Here's how I remember the argument:
Iran is more dangerous than Iraq. We should have gone to war with them.
Iran had more to do with 9/11 than Iraq. We should have gone to war with them.
Most of the World Hates the US.
Because of the Iraq war, Iran taunts us knowing we're too weak to respond.

But this paints another story. Does this mean the Iraq war worked?
They want to get along with us. Throw down the terror and live in
peace?

What's it been 27 years of evil and now that we flex some muscle in
their neighborhood they want to make nice? So we sweat them a bit and
then say we were just messing with them.  Diplomacy, gotta love it.
