Caller ID info can be changed by the caller and it's very likely a telemarketer. A company I recently worked with has a call center (for inbound support calls) that simply showed "760" as the caller ID if they called you. We could set it to be any number we wanted.
This is also why your caller ID info should never be considered a secure form of identification by credit card companies or banks when you call them. -Cameron On 6/21/06, Paul Ihrig <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > so wth is this > about once a week i get a call from "06-461" then the rest of the digits are > my own cell phone. > i googled it, but cant find out. > > any ideas... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:209957 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
