We are building a new CRM for our new franchise operations and we are
looking at the possibility of having the system initiate a phone call
to a client from the app. We are looking at a CF app and I would guess
if this was to work we would need to have a small bit of software that
is installed on every machine.

Is there another method? I would assume that some systems have a web
based API or web service?? If this is the case then we wouldnt need
the software.

Has anyone worked with this stuff? Is there an RFC or standard for IP telephony?
