A few more things - always assume that you are going to be doing 100%
of the work. Once you have people volunteering, still assume you are
going to do 100% of the work. Until someone is actually consistently
(3+ months) doing what they volunteered for, assume you are going to
be doing 100% of the work.

Having said that, put all the "big ideas" on the shelf till you have
solved three problems:

1) Finding a location
2) Finding speakers (3 months in advance is optimal)
3) You have determined how much time it takes to manage the logistics
of simple, no frills meetings

At the beginning, to prevent insanity and stagnation, I would
specifically avoid:

1) Trying to build an uber-website for the group, one simple hand
coded HTML page is enough to start with.
2) Trying to co-ordinate broadcasting the meetings to the world,
filming it, recording it, or anything similar - it's just too much to
worry about.
3) Any grand ideas, period.

I could go on - I've been running CFUGs for awhile. It can be very
rewarding, but it can also make you insane.
