You can *ALWAYS* get computers cheaper than Dell. If you're mildly
technical, build your own machine, or buy a dirt cheap machine made with
decent parts.

I recently bought a system with an Intel Pentium D 930 (3.0ghz) with 1gb
of ram, 200gb hard drive, onboard audio, video, and networking, for
about $500 total. I added another 200GB SATA hard drive (Maxtor), a
kick-ass All-in-wonder Radeon X800XT 256MB video card, another gig of
ram for 2 gigs total, and I've still spent less than $1000.

www.btecanada.com was where I got the base system from, along with the
video card... bought the extra hard drive on ebay, and the extra RAM
from a local shop.

If I have any problems, i'll have to go with the manufacturer's
warranty, but I figure it's worth it with the money I saved.
