Not nuts at all. When i'm alone with my dog, i'll carry on full conversations. It actually helps me to relax and work things out when I say them out loud to my dog.
I think it's kind of reassuring, when I've just sputtered a bunch of stuff that seems really important and stressful to my dog, and she just stares back with this beautiful ignorance in her eyes and gives me a lick on the face. It's like an instant reminder that, you know, all that bullshit really isn't that important.
