I've decided to try thunderbird and I'm really not impressed. There's no visiable way to see your mail processing (just a small, useless thing in the corner that doesn't tell you anything). It doesn't allow for incrimental downloading of mail (setting an account to non-automatic and downloading the messages from the server). It just 'feels' unfinished. If it keeps messing up my normal mail download I may just go back to OE.
