Okay, Tom, you've garnered another one of my late night / early morning replies... especially since you ever-so-casually disregarded my last post.
Believe me when I say that you got it easy... still are from what I can see. We can be the most spiteful, flame-bearing crowd you'll ever find if you manage to get us that mad. I'm personally still wondering why you're perpetuating this thread. You know that it's a moot point even if you are correct in all you claim. The email lists you have posted on are ColdFusion based lists, where people who use the product can talk, either professionally or casually. Have you posted your thoughts and insight on any Dreamweaver, Flash, Shockwave, or Generator lists? What reaction did you get there? I tried to make myself very clear in my post last night that I was not trying to attack you personally, and I maintain that stance. I'll even point to the fact that I don't consider you a "troll". Maybe that's just because I'm the forgiving type. > Maureen, have you figured out yet what dissing means? I've used > all the on-line feminist dictionaries I can find, but no luck. If you're seriously having problems with what a word means, especially something as benign as "dissing" (which, for your edification makes a reference to an action, statement or thought being disregarded casually with no afterthought), then perhaps m-w.com can be of assistance: "Pronunciation: 'dis Function: transitive verb Inflected Form(s): dissed; dissing Etymology: perhaps short for disrespect Date: 1986 1 slang : to treat with disrespect or contempt : INSULT 2 slang : to find fault with : CRITICIZE " > (comments about layoffs and Adobe (?!?) taking over MM Okay, two things here... first of all, there are no (zero, zip, nada) headlines pointing to either of these conspiracy theories on the two different stock sites (yahoo and bigcharts.com) that I looked at. Also, you have moved from saying that Microsoft is going to take over MM to saying that Adobe is... intereststing concept and I'd love to know where that idea got hatched. I have to side with Benjamin on this one when he asks, "What's your background, your authority? More importantly.... what's your real agenda.... other than to just try and get attention?" (don't worry Benjamin, I won't make it a habit, I promise :P ) > There you have it. I stepped on no ones toes or egos (thankfully) > and yet have left the "girls" something to talk about during > their cigarette breaks. A word to the wise... never assume gender based on name ;) My wife doesn't like it when guys think the wrong direction on my gender neutral name. > And above all - remember this. No matter how much you may > know about programming and bashing, you do not know what > is in the head of the guy several layers above you. If you > did, no one would have lost thousands on the Allaire disaster. (*chuckles*) you still don't get it... the readership of this forum as well as CF-Talk includes people like Ben Forta, "Product Evangelest" of ColdFusion, Matt Brown, Macromedia's Community Manager for the ColdFusion and Dreamweaver product lines and a slew of CEO's, CIO's, CTO's... hell, we even get a visit from Jeremy every now and then. I'd still really *love* to see where you're getting the stuff about Adobe, though... sounds like someone's playing with a crystal ball again. Too bad the vibes here are such that those things get warped in a hurry. > One thing is for certain, you can not continue working on a million dollar > a day loss. (*smirk*) Why not, the US Federal Government runs a trillion dollar budget annually and look at the usable products we get from them... you ever try to read the tax code unaided? Okay, it's time for me to go back to bed... Hatton ______________________________________________________________________ This list and all House of Fusion resources hosted by CFHosting.com.
