Yikes! > And before someone suggests a hardware upgrade -- not going to happen. I understand your motivation, but leading her to believe that computer will *EVER* be adequate to use on the internet is just plain cruel. I would just advise her to place it in the back of the closet and give up. Even if you get it going for her, it will be a fragile, teetering pile of software and hardware that you will be over there looking at for her every night. This reminds me of companies who absolutely insist on remaining on CF 4.5 and then pitch a fit when they can't parse XML with it. Or of my folks, who insist on saving $15 by using dialup when DSL is available, and then complain that it takes forever to download anything, asking me why it's so slow when I visit. The good, honest advice in this case is "turn it off and put it away, it's not going to work". -Cameron ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:213070 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
