Trust me, I understand. I gave my sister and brother-in-law my house in Connecticut when I fled for a few years to Oregon (too much family - too close).
Now that I am back in the area, I spend more time repairing it than I did when I owned it. We built a 2000 sq ft addition on this winter (paid for out of pocket), and have been working on it ever since. He does side jobs (I help) on Saturday morning, we spend the money on supplies and use them up saturday and sunday. It never ends. But, it is a lot of fun.
