Maureen may ultimately be right here.  However - I would hope that
anyone who considers themselves "open minded" would be eager to read
all viewpoints.  I know plenty of folks only interested in reading
opinions that agree with their own, so that they can become
increasingly entrenched in their POV and how "right" they are.  What
do they call that - a self fulfilling prophecy?

Depending on what book I have in my hands at the time, I've been
identified as being both a radical conservative and a radical liberal.
 I'm neither, but it's fun to explore people's minds when they start a
conversation with you under false assumptions.
