Most people I know (mysef included) have a love-hate relationship with depression. It's part of who we are, and the idea of eliminating it feels a little like lopping off your big toe. On the other hand, had we never had it to begin with, we might all feel differently.
That being said, any genetic modification scares me. Ones that muck with your basic personality scare me even more. I don't want to be a Stepford wife.
