M&M, sorry man, I forgot about you! I was rummaging around in my bag, and
found the paper she gave me yesterday just now.

Your plant, according to my boss, is called a Pineapple Lily. From her
little book, it says that it needs "well watered soil", 75% sun, and must be
kept moist during flowering.

Trim off the brown part of the leaves and it should make a comeback. it is
supposed to flower several times per year in warmer southerm climates
(that's if it is planted outside, I guess).

Also called "Eucomis".
