We don't do the research, but we provide scientific products to the researchers. I took a "biotech for dummies" class recently. They talked about this research as well as other promising research in the field. The other end of the spectrum on this research is figuring out how to switch off programmed cell death in healthy cells, which could lead to tremendously increased longevity. A question in the long term is how such a change would affect mutations in the body. Over time cell division causes replication errors in DNA that can lead to genetic mutations. Fascinating stuff, really.
