Well... You'll need to get an exception from your IT department to access the web without going through the proxy. I know where I'm at there are all kinds of blocked sites that are of use to us techies. What we do is use a VPN'd connection to an outside line. It sucks as you have to completely disconnect from the network, but hey... Beggars can't be choosers.
