I don't know about "freak"... I love the man to death but he did make a habit out of going up to things with poison, barbs, fangs, claws and spurs and... well, poke at them. It really could fall into the "bound to happen sooner or later" category. Still... it's a disturbingly guilty feeling I've got. It was exactly the crazy-assed shit that got him killed that made him so entertaining.
