But like I stated before, the brand of Catholicism i see practiced in my area teaches that you witness to Christ by servicing others. You don't convert them, you don't preach to them, you act as a servant in the name of Jesus....and if they happen to notice, and ask you about it....well then you can mention your motivation...which is your faith :) Now that's idealized of course, but that is what is instructed....and it's hard to find fault in that approach. In other words, I don't care if you think i'm going to hell....as long as you don't tell me about it....unless i ask. I think there are a lot of people who's problem with gay marriage has nothing to do with religion, but with some other personal issue (fear of their own latent homosexuality, perhaps). They then use religion as a convenient means to their end, which is exclusion. These same overly pious assholes have no problem breaking other tenets of their religion...which is why i think their mock piety on the gay marriage issue is a cover and a sham. Do you know any fully conforming Catholics that don't favor baking > their religion into law such as with Gay Marriage? I think most of those people just don't like gays....and don't want them to get married out of some form of spite. The actual religious tenet against it is bases solely on religious beliefs of "marriage"...if you separated the rites, like we should, that would help immensely. It's probably too late for that though. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:214830 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
