You need to read more liner notes, since that is not the case with most country artists. Even country artists that do 'write their own songs' are often working with songwriters. <cf_conspiracytheory> I get the impression that in many cases, they say "My next album will sell a boatload of copies and make you rich if you want me to record your song you have to list me as a songwriter" </cf_conspiracytheory> Shania Twain's first album only had one (or two?) song(s) written by her on it because the producers told her 'not to do that." If she didn't meet Mutt, she'd be in the same boat today, only having 1 or 2 of her own songs per record. I think she did a VH1 behind the music, where she said that her record company was 'against' her working with Mutt and recording her own songs. The latest Dixie Chick album is the first album where they wrote all their own songs. The producer made it a requirement with him taking the job. >- They are talented. Many country artists are talented as performers and musicians. I agree here. The "rock" bands can learn a lot from country about performing. >- Dixie bitches notwithstanding, they are generally a fiercely patriotic >bunch I agree, although you could argue whether such fierce patriotic spirit is good or bad. >- Fiddles. Every country song should be required to have a fiddle in it. If you're gonna play in Texas, you got to have a fiddle in the band. -- Jeffry Houser, Software Developer, Writer, Songwriter, Recording Engineer AIM: Reboog711 | Phone: 1-203-379-0773 -- My Company: <http://www.dot-com-it.com> My Books: <http://www.instantcoldfusion.com> My Recording Studio: <http://www.fcfstudios.com> Connecticut Macromedia User Group: <http://www.ctmug.com> Now Blogging at <http://www.jeffryhouser.com> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:215006 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
