He became popular throughout his presidency, perhaps by luck, as the economy
roared on and Americans were just generally in high spirits. He was the
greatest politician I'd ever seen. Getting 50% of the popular vote means
diddly these days.

Fact is, if the constitution allowed it, Clinton could run tomorrow and beat
any republican challenger hands down.
