We have hefty gas taxes, but, as an example, when we moved to
Washington State from Kansas City, almost nine years ago, gas was only
$.05 higher per gallon, now we're talking $.75... and we've only
increased gas taxes by $.09 per gallon in that time.

ah well... nicer weather, nicer scenery... higher gas prices... still
a good trade :-)
