I hate PETA, but it's hard to blame them for the kill rate at one of their
shelters. They only have a limited number of resources, so they can take two
tracks: become a no-kill shelter, and turn away hundreds of other
pets...which will probably just be killed anyway...or worse, just turned
loose. Or they can take and care for as many as they can, unfortunately
terminating some as need necessitates.

One method isn't necessarily better than the other, but they both try to
address the same problem, a problem PETA didn't create.

No, the blame for this particular mess doesn't lie with PETA or any other
organization, it lies with irresponsible pet owners and breeders.
