Putting him down was not a choice. Although Sammy was still a young puppy,
my daughter had grown attached to him, plus the surgery was low risk with
little chance of negative side effects.

If this had been a case of him needing a procedure that was a high risk, had
serious negative side effects or was unaffordable, I'm afraid he would be
out of luck.

I cringe at those numbers, but I know i'd do the same thing. I'm such a
sucker for the unconditional joy dogs bring...i'd bankrupt myself to keep em
happy and healthy....wouldn't even be a question.
