I've stayed in Canary Wharf (at the Hilton) which I thought was awesome. Very neighborhood but close to Canada Water train station. http://www.hilton.co.uk/docklands It had a cool boat, "8th century sailing barque", that's a restaurant. I've also stayed here: http://www.theleonard.com/location.htm which was an awesome location and hotel if you want to drop some coin. We got lucky and were upgraded to a suite that was so big it had it's own fire exit.
